Local Law 11 NYC New York
Local Law 11 NYC is New York's facade inspection law. It dates from 1980 when a piece of falling masonry killed a passing pedestrian. Local Law 11 applies to all NYC buildings 6 stories or above. These buildings are mandated to have a facade inspection on a 5 year cycle with critical inspection having to be done within 2 years of the cycle end to determine the integrity of the facade.
